In the classical sense, philosophy represents an ongoing inquiry into the most basic issues of human existence. Plato, for instance, viewed philosophy as the pursuit of truth, beauty and justice. More broadly, whatever concerns people, concerns philosophy.
What students can expect to study:

- Existence of God
- Law government and citizenship
- Social justice
- Nature of reality apart from what it appears to be
u200bThe University’s philosophy program prepares individuals to use ideas and theories to address real world issues in such realms as education, business, law, public policy, health care and the environment.
Philosophy courses at The University of Findlay are consciously designed to be relevant for students, regardless of the person’s occupational or career interests. This process allows students to develop their skills of comprehension, communication and reasoning.
Students may select a major or minor in applied philosophy or a minor in applied ethics. Additionally, individualized programs of study can be created in consultation with a faculty adviser.

English Language Requirements: TOEFL (iBT) score of at least 61, an IELTS score of at least 6.0, a Pearson Test of English (academic) of at least 50, or an International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) of at least 3.5.
