The Department of Integrative STEM Education in the School of Engineering at TCNJ is a national leader in PK-12 Technology, Engineering, and integrative STEM education.
This program prepares in-service teachers with current, integrative, design-centric teaching and learning methods applicable across PK–12 grade levels. Day and evening classes are offered to accommodate the needs of both part-time and full-time students. Course environments include small classes that deliver personalized instruction. TCNJ is a national leader in PK-12 Technology, Engineering, and integrative STEM education.
Teachers enrolled in this program should preferably be in-service/currently teaching, or have reasonable access to Pk-12 students. Certification could be in any state, and setting could be public, private, charter, or magnet school, and potentially informal settings. Since this program emphasizes design-centric learning, applicants from any content area (STEM or non-STEM) should consider this program.
Key Features of the Program
INTEGRATIVE: Emphasis on Integrative (cross-curricular) methods between the STEM components and non-STEM content areas.
DESIGN PEDAGOGIES: Design-centric Project-Based Learning (PBL) methods are covered extensively. These PBL methods enable higher cognitive student engagement, and include highly contextualized settings.
CONTENT AREA KNOWLEDGE: Content in individual STEM areas is covered. Additional NJ State content endorsements may be possible depending on individual’s backgrounds.
PRACTICAL APPROACH: Gives teachers practical skills, including curricular writing, inclusive practices, and assessment and deep connections to current educational standards. TCNJ college certificates or NJ State Supervisor certification are also possible.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or proof of equivalent preparation from a foreign college or university. Applicants should have a 2.75 cumulative average or a 3.0 in the major at the undergraduate level, although some programs may have a higher requirement. English Language requirement: A minimum score of 80 is recommended for the Internet Based TOEFL exam and a score of 7 or higher is recommended for the IELTS.
