We designed this master’s degree program in history to help you develop the advanced critical thinking, research, writing, and analytical skills – as well as the historical perspective – essential for career advancement in education, business, law, public policy and government.
With distinctive classes led by talented faculty, this program is perfect for social studies and history teachers who wish to enhance their teaching, as well as students who wish to continue their studies at the graduate level. We partner with a number of area museums to offer internships that build your network and develop your research skills.
Northwest Indiana has amazing resources and stories for historians to tell. You can take a variety of graduate courses in American and European history, work closely with our faculty in focusing your research interests, and expand your education outside the classroom by learning public history from the region’s museum professionals.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants ordinarily will be expected to hold baccalaureate degrees from colleges or universities of recognized standing prior to admission as graduate students. Three-year Bologna bachelor’s degree recipients are eligible for graduate admission. Applicants for a masters degree program should have achieved a 3.0/4.0 grade point index or higher for the baccalaureate degree or have other academic indices indicating superior performance to be considered for unconditional admission. The Graduate School accepts valid TOEFL scores. The minimum scores required for admission are as follows: Writing 18, Speaking 18, Listening 14, Reading 19, Total 80. The Graduate School accepts valid International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. The minimum scores required for admission are as follows: Writing 5.5, Speaking 6.0, Listening 6.0, Reading 6.5, Total 6.5.
