Earn your stripes
As a criminal justice major, you'll gain a solid understanding of the causes of crime and application of justice. When you study criminal justice, you'll study topics such as criminology, victimology, psychology and political studies and visit local law enforcement agencies. You'll learn all of this from nationally recognized experts and you'll have the opportunity to speak with professionals in the field.
In this criminal justice degree program, you'll learn the structure and process of the American judicial system and explore and analyze diverse ethical issues that you may encounter as a criminal justice professional. When it's time to graduate, you'll have the knowledge and confidence necessary to assume positions of responsibility and leadership.
Full-time students enrolled in this program can participate in internships in Washington, D.C., for a semester. Once you have earned your criminal justice degree, you may go on to law school or work in a variety of law enforcement careers.
Criminal justice major information
Majoring in criminal justice means learning all the aspects of criminal law, procedures, and the courts. In this program, you'll gain a deeper understanding of policing in America, social problems and global human rights. Plus, you'll complete in field-based assignments blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience. So, when your classes are over, you'll have a firm grasp on all aspects of criminal justice. - Human behavior, abnormal psychology and victimology
