Connect to tech
As a communication major, you'll focus on merging the traditional studies of mass communication with today’s developing media technology. The skills you gain with this degree will keep you on top of those trends, and with a unique ability to guide the integration of future media technologies, too.
As a student in the B.A. in communication program, you can master tons of concepts, including topics in persuasion, ethics and social media. Or, take a more technical route and study development and delivery of all kinds of internet-based messages, as well as traditional print, radio and TV.
You’ll learn from our credentialed professors and industry experts. You’ll manage theory and fundamentals while working hands-on with our top-level technology. Plus, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop your portfolio even further with our on-campus student productions (Knight Radio, iPulse TV and iPulse newspaper). Or, snag a chance to volunteer or intern with one of our local, highly respected media outlets.
What you’ll learn as a communication major
Becoming a successful communicator is key in today's digital environment. In this bachelor's of communication program, you'll learn traditional communication theories and practical application of communication strategies. As a communication major, you'll come to understand the communication opportunities, obligations and risks, which continue to emerge in today's world. Leaders, consultants, activists and all citizens can effectively use communication strategies that bring about change through conflict. Applicants with minimum TOEFL score 71 (Internet-based), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, a minimum Duolingo score of 51 or a or a minimum PTE Academic score of 50 or a minimum Versant score of 60 will be considered for admission.
