This degree is popular with those students wishing to major in mathematics and have a greater concentration in mathematics, science, and statistics. The department is currently planning options within the degree to allow for concentrations in theoretical mathematics and statistics.

IU South Bend has excellent computer laboratories for student use and provides the most current software needed for mathematical, scientific, and statistical analysis. A key feature of our campus, to enhance student learning, is its commitment toward small class size: lower level undergraduate classes average fewer than 35 students each, while upper level and graduate courses average fewer than 20 students each.

English Language Requirements: Minimum TOEFL score of 71 or higher on the internet-based; TOEFL score 530 or higher paper-based exam; IELTS - 6.0 or higher; Pearson Test of English, Academic: 48 or higher; WAEC's Senior Secondary Certificate of Examinations (SSCE): A or B; Ordinary Level Certificate: A or B; Cambridge International O Levels: C or higher; (Test in Practical English Proficiency) "EIKEN": Pre-1 or higher.
