Nutrition and dietetics professionals are well equipped to enter the health and wellness field. Managing the delivery of food and providing healthy eating guidance to health professionals, athletes, private practice clients, chefs, food service managers, food scientists, and consumers of all ages is the essence of the dietetics field, offering challenges for students to prepare themselves for varied and exciting career opportunities.
Program Goal 1: Graduates will be prepared for acceptance into a supervised-practice program through individualized advising, mentoring, and hands-on learning.
- Objective 1.1: At least 80 percent of program students, enrolled as juniors, will complete the program/degree requirements within three years.
- Objective 1.2: At least 80 percent of graduates, via an exit survey, will rate their experiential-learning proficiency as meeting or exceeding their preparation requirements toward acceptance into a supervised-practice program.
- Objective 1.3: At least 80 percent of program graduates are expected to apply for admission to a supervised-practice program within 12 months of graduation.
- Objective 1.4:At least 80 percent of graduates who apply will be accepted into a supervised-practice program within 12 months of graduation.
- Objective 1.5: At least 80 percent of graduates who are accepted into a supervised practice program, will rate their advising and mentoring experiences in the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) as meeting or exceeding their preparation requirements toward acceptance into a supervised-practice program.
