Old Dominion University offers one of the first cybercrime bachelor's degrees in the United States. The cybercrime program, as an interdisciplinary program, requires students to be well rounded academically. They must be comfortable writing essays and research papers, analyzing written texts, and solving math problems.
The student who majors in cybercrime will gain a broad knowledge base and strong written and verbal skills developed in liberal arts degrees, while at the same time gaining practical skills that employers look for. Because the program requires between 80 and 94 credits to be completed, students have the flexibility to double major or increase their expertise in criminal justice or cybersecurity by taking more advanced classes.
Career Tracks: Cybercrime Investigative Analyst (Digital Forensics, Forensic Science Technician, Information Security Analyst, Online Safety Investigations); Computer Support Specialist (Technical Support, Computer Help Desk Technician, Computer Technical Specialist); Education & Research.
