The Master of Science in Nursing Nurse Educator Specialization program at Worcester State University prepares professional nurses with a passion for teaching for in-demand careers in nursing education.
With an efficient combination of online and face-to-face instruction and affordable tuition and fees, our flexible program is designed for working professionals like you. Depending on your degree status, we offer 3 convenient routes of entry:
Traditional Entry: for students with a BS in nursing
Bridge Program: for registered nurses with a non-nursing BA or BS
RN-to-MS Fast Track: for associate-degree or diploma-prepared registered nurses
Our curriculum provides you with theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of curriculum development, instructional design, advanced teaching methods, and program evaluation. In WSU’s state-of-the-art high-fidelity nursing simulation lab, you’ll learn effective tools to teach best practices in patient safety and quality of care. Through your teaching practicum, which you’ll conduct alongside professional teachers at educational settings throughout Massachusetts, you’ll have opportunities to establish valuable career connections.
Our graduates go on to rewarding careers in academic and clinical settings as professors, clinical nurse educators, continuing education specialists, and patient education coordinators. They are eligible to sit for the National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator examination and/or the American Nurses Credentialing Center certification examination in Nursing Professional Development after meeting experiential requirements.
