The Master of Education in Elementary Education program at Worcester State University helps you become a highly trained educator with the specialized knowledge and skills to teach students in grades 1-6. Designed for working adults with an initial teacher license in elementary education, our well-respected program offers a high-quality education at a competitive cost.
You’ll learn from our accomplished faculty, as you experience a true balance of content and pedagogy. You’ll have the opportunity to choose a content area in literacy; mathematics; social studies, fine arts, and health; or science, math, and technology. You also will work closely with your faculty advisor to identify your unique academic and career goals and develop a program of study to achieve them.
In addition, you’ll conduct a research project on a topic in elementary education of interest to you. As you progress through our program, you’ll record your achievements in a portfolio of work that not only demonstrates your mastery of all program competencies, but also showcases your professional development.
Graduates of our program have found great success as teachers in public and private schools across the state. In fact, a master’s degree in elementary education from WSU may be used toward professional teacher licensure in Massachusetts.
