在這里學(xué)什么?
APU’s Bachelor of Arts in Economics prepares students to think critically and analytically. This program provides a solid grounding in economic principles, statistics, and the economics of religion, which then serve as a framework for in-depth study of labor concerns, financial markets, environmental economics, urban and regional economies, and international trade. The economics major features business faculty who remain connected to businesses in their areas of expertise and provide internship contacts for economics students. It also gives students the opportunity to participate in Enactus and Scholars for Business Achievement and apply what they learn in the classroom to solve real-world economic problems.
Economists study how society creates and allocates value among its members, and economics considers the supply-and-demand decisions of individuals and firms, the market structure and competitive conditions of particular industries, and the effects of policy changes on business and social decisions. National economic growth, the structure of domestic and international economic systems, employment and wage conditions, and the availability of financial resources are also significant issues. Economics also examines how social and economic conditions are changing in the developing world, and how small- and large-scale efforts can improve the living conditions of people. At APU, students choose from among a broad range of economics courses.
You’re an economics major if you: Enjoy numbers, puzzles, and challenges. Are thorough and detail oriented. Tend to see the connections between ideas and concepts. Like to know how things work. Want a degree that is broadly applicable to many industries.
Careers for Economics Majors: Financial Analyst, Think Tank Researcher/Scholar, Entrepreneur, Insurance Underwriter, Government Economist, Risk Manager, Securities Marketer, Consultant, Social Entrepreneur, Management Consultant, Writer/Editor
