A degree in child and adolescent development is excellent training for careers involving children and families. Or perhaps you already possess entry-level credentials, already work with children and youth and want to advance your career. A wide range of professionals-from childcare administrators to parent educators to child/youth advocates to child and family counsellors to pediatric nurses to healthcare workers-have gained the knowledge and expertise they needed to move ahead in the workplace through our bachelor's and master's degree programs. Our curriculum incorporates theory, research, policy and practice, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of children and adolescents. For hands-on training we offer numerous activities in community agencies and we operate a campus laboratory preschool. We graduate well-informed, responsible individuals, sensitive to the commonalities and diversities of the world and its people.
The Master of Arts degree in the Department of Child & Adolescent Development (ChAD) prepares students for advanced study leading to a doctorate in the field; for community college teaching; and for professional careers in settings that serve children, youth, and families.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited and approved institution from a foreign country, or the completion of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Hold a GPA of at least 2.5 (from the 0.0-4.0 U.S. grading scale) in the last degree completed, or a GPA of 2.5 in the last two years of full-time study. Good academic standing at the last institution attended. English Language Requirements: TOEFL: 550 (Paper Based), 213 (Computer Based); 80 (Internet Based); IELTS score 6.5; PTE: 53.
