專業(yè)概況
在這里學什么？ The M.F.A. Design Theatre/Technology specialization is a theoretical and practical course of study. The Department of Theatre recognizes that the designer and technician must seek to attain a broad knowledge of the theatre and its companion arts, a high level of analytical and communicative skills, an understanding of the design elements as they apply to live, three-dimenxadsional performances revealed by light, a comprehensive understanding of art and theatrical design history, and the ability to communicate graphically. With major professor and graduate committee approval, candidates must select an area of emphasis and complete additional requirements for the emphasis area: Costume Design, Light and Sound Design, Scenic Design, or Technical Direction. Because specialization admissions are limited, each student receives a high level of individualxadized instruction, opportunities to design in the Arena season of plays, and, in most instances, the opportunity to design a main stage production as part of the design candidate’s culminating project.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have successful completion of a baccalaureate degree or an equivalent degree from an institution with full regional accreditation for that degree. A minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.7 on conferred degree and/or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale, on all graduate coursework. English Language Requirements: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 79 on the Internet-Based TOEFL (iBT) or 550 on the Paper-Based TOEFL (PBT); International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) - a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, and Pearson Test of English (PTE) - a minimum PTE score of 53.
