We provide students with the knowledge and tools you'll need to become an informed, competent and creative artist. Bridging both the technical and conceptual approaches to painting, you will experience a rigorous and supportive environment that encourages creative thought and personal growth through research, experimentation and critical discussion. You'll learn to develop a thoughtfully executed and skilled body of paintings and how to contextualize your work through readings, field trips and research.
Our painting facilities include:
Large, naturally lit critique spaces Painting model studio
Large light control system spaces for studio projects and figure painting
Free figure model sessions
Access to video and audio editing equipment and professional grade digital cameras and light kits
Well-ventilated spray booths
Laser cutters
Undergraduate and graduate individual studios
Woodshed facilities to create canvas and panel supports

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants must have High School (secondary school) transcript with grade point average equivalent to 2.6 on a 4.0 scale. English language requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - 71 or higher (iBT); 530 or higher (paper test); IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - 5.5 or higher; ACT or SAT - ACT English 18+ OR SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing 500+; USD Intensive English Program (IEP) Successful completion of USD’s Intensive English Program Level 3; ELS Language Center Successful completion of the ELS English for Academic Purposes level 112; Cambridge International Examinations - English subject A-Level with C or higher; International Baccalaureate (IB) - IB English A (4 or higher) or IB English B (6 or higher).
