The Exercise and Sport Science major and minor at Madonna University is designed to provide a comprehensive program of study to provide another entry point for students into the growing health promotion and sport management related fields. Students will be equipped with the knowledge to motivate others of all ages, backgrounds, and health status to become more physically, mentally, and socially fit.
Behavior-related health care costs have multiplied in the last decade. Now, more than ever, the importance of fitness is critical. This program complements a variety of minor programs offered at Madonna University. It addresses the under-served and vitally important area of physical fitness that is linked to enhanced individual lifestyles and is an important need for society.
Students will take courses that involve personal training, coaching principles, health and disease, physical activity and weight control, aging, strength and cardio training, and the psychological aspects of fitness and nutrition. Students will engage in a wide range of athletic training activities and learn how to perform basic CPR/first aid and athletic training.
Students will have the opportunity to work with several businesses in the area to promote fitness and wellness as part of their internship. By the completion of the program, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the origins of and conditions for the maintenance of personal fitness.

Cumulative high school GPA 2.8 or above. Requirement for Undergraduate Admission: TOEFL: 70 (iBT); IELTS: 6; MELAB: 76.
