專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么?
This programme will empower you to confidently meet the clinical and logistical challenges of working in complex and unpredictable situations; overseas, in low resource settings, on expedition or within your UK practice. Gain the advanced knowledge, skills and leadership qualities to deliver quality care, interact with healthcare professionals in multicultural or resource constrained settings and ensure the best possible health outcomes for your unique patient population, whatever your location.
Key features
- A choice of two pathways: Leadership (with a vision of becoming a global healthcare leader of the future) or Remote and Rural (gaining skills to lead and provide medical cover to expeditions in the arctic, jungle, desert or mountainous terrains).
- Teaching from faculty staff and visiting experts.
- Benefit from a blended learning environment with delivery ranging between lectures, seminars, practical scenario-based training in the field, and supported distance learning. Our academic team is available via a range of telecommunication methods for ongoing support during your studies.
- Take advantage of a collaborative educational partnership between local NHS services, higher education, clinical services and experts such as members of the University's Global Health Collaborative.
The course can be flexible to fit around your work, practice opportunities and travel overseas. The normal is to complete the full time version in one year, and the part time version in three, taking two modules per year and undertaking the dissertation in year three. The course traditionally starts in September with an introductory two days. The Global Health and Project Design, Development and Knowledge transfer modules run in the autumn term, the Remote and Rural Practitioner and Leadership modules in the Spring Term. The distance learning Leadership and Innovation in practice module runs across the year.
