Department requirements (32-35 credits)
All of the following:
Earth and environmental sciences 1101, 1201, 2200W, 2300, 2500, 3750.
Two (2) additional EESC courses at the 2000 level or higher.
Chemistry 1040 or 1100 or its equivalent.
Mathematics 1201, or Computer and Information Science 1110, or Earth and Environmental Sciences 3800.
All required Earth and Environmental Sciences courses numbered 2000 or higher must be completed with a grade of C- or higher in each course.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Graduates will be able to describe how processes operating at and beneath the Earth’s surface create the Earth’s landscape and materials
- Graduates will be able to describe how processes operating at and beneath the Earth’s surface affect, and are affected by, human activities
- Graduates will be able to provide example as to how physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics are applied to the study of Earth
- Graduates will be able to conceptualize the Earth and environment as a set of connected systems
- Graduates will be able to analyze and interpret 3D features/structures
- Graduates will be able to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats.
