Engage in the “fundamental science” by exploring matter, energy and the rules that govern them that are vital to scientific understanding in everyday life. Learn from distinguished faculty who will expose you to all the major branches of physics, from classical physics and quantum mechanics, to the study of the tiniest subatomic particles and the exploration of entire galaxies.

Physics: Concentration in Environmental Science [PHY_ENVS] Physics: Concentration in Geophysics [PHY_GEOP]
The study of geophysics includes a knowledge of the physical laws that govern the earth and a range of geology topics such as the earth's interior, crustal movements, mineral and fossil fuel resources. Crucial to these topics are the mathematical tools needed to describe them. For more information, contact the Physics Department.
