As an athletic trainer, you are a healthcare professional that helps people with injuries and illnesses. You can make a difference in the lives of athletes, military members, performers, and many other populations.
What Will I Learn?
Structure and function of the human body
How to prevent, care for, and rehabilitate injuries and illnesses
Clinical examination and diagnosis through patient history, observation, palpation and special tests
Complete four semesters of Clinical Education Experience under the direct supervision of an Athletic Trainer and other Medical Professionals working in a variety of settings
How to prepare for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam
Professional development and responsibility
As an athletic trainer, you can expect to:
Prevent injuries
Care for anything from ankle sprains to concussions
Rehab injuries such as muscle strains or ACL tears
Save lives
You can work in a variety of settings:
High schools and colleges
Professional and Olympic sports
Doctor’s offices and hospitals
Sports medicine, rehab, fitness and wellness clinics
Military academies, police and fire departments
Performing arts venues
