Teaching is a rewarding profession and good math teachers are always in demand. At SUNY Cortland, you will get a solid foundation in mathematics along with nationally recognized professional preparation for teaching in grades 7-12. If you decide you don’t want to teach, you’ll have a degree that you can use to pursue other careers. You also have the option of working toward dual certification in both mathematics and physics.
What Will I Learn?
The math courses you take will teach you to think critically, reason logically and solve problems. While the professional preparation courses will help you become a more effective teacher by introducing you to different teaching and assessment strategies. Ultimately, you get to put all these skills into practice during a semester of student teaching your senior year.

English Language Requirements: TOEFL - 79; IELTS - Band 6.5; EIKEN, Pre-1.
