WHY CHOOSE SOCIAL WORK?
With nearly all SRU Social Work gradates finding employment or continuing with graduate school, you can feel confident that the work you do at SRU will prepare you to meet challenges in the field. Your instructors, with decades of clinical, group, administrative and policy experience, guide learning through classroom internships, service learning and other "real world" settings. Abundant internship opportunities are available and frequently lead to offers of employment.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
The coursework at SRU has been specially designed to produce social workers who demonstrate and exceed competency standards.
Through classes in Sociology, Psychology, and Social Policy, you will develop the skills necessary to excel in future practice with individuals, group work, community organizing, agency leadership, and management, and social policy.
CAREERS IN SOCIAL WORK
As profession with strong growth projections, social workers enjoy employment in a wide variety of settings. A social worker's clients may range from the youngest member of a family to those in hospice care settings. Veterans' service organizations, adoption agencies, domestic violence programs, drug and alcohol agencies, and private industry, among so many others, are all areas where social workers practice. The common thread in these areas is that a social worker is often in a unique position to be the positive force of change in a client's life.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
