Ready to use your passion for science to teach and inspire the next generation? The Middle Level Education: Science program will at SRU will prepare you to teach science to students in grades 4-8. Through this program, you'll also be qualified to teach English language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science in grades 4-6.

SRU is an NCATE / CAEP accredited institution, and SRU teaching candidates are known by administrators and teachers in the field for their strong preparation and classroom-ready skills. The Middle Level Education: Science program offers you the opportunity to develop professional and personal competence through diverse classroom experiences and student teaching opportunities locally and abroad.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
In the Middle Level Education: Science program at SRU, you'll take core courses in professional education, such as middle level cognitive development, teaching in the middle level grades, and teaching science in middle school. You'll also take science specialization courses in areas like:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Geology
- Meteorology
- Physics
Through your coursework, practicum, and student teaching experience, you'll learn how to:
- Use the latest technology in teaching
- Design classroom instructions to meet students' specific needs and abilities
- Work with students from various ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds to meet the needs of diverse student populations
CAREERS IN MIDDLE LEVEL EDUCATION: SCIENCE
As a graduate of this program, you'll be qualified to teach science to middle school students grades 4-8 in Pennsylvania and in other states. As you begin your teaching career, the SRU Office of Career Education and Development will help you create a resume or Curriculum Vita (CV), prepare for job interviews, and secure Employment.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
