WHY CHOOSE CHEMISTRY: PRE-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT?
Chemistry lies at the heart of medicine. A degree in chemistry will help a practitioner develop excellent patient care skills by fostering an understanding of the drug interactions involved in many healthcare decisions. The Chemistry program at SRU will provide the next generation of physician assistants with the basic knowledge and skills to pursue a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies that most programs desire. The program provides a breadth of training in the various disciplines within chemistry, providing you with a solid foundation for a rigorous career.
WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?
Chemistry Pre-Physician Assistant SRU 3+2: Earn a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in five years rather than six. In the first three years, you complete your chemistry major courses and pre-requisites for the SRU PA program. During your third undergraduate year, you apply for admission into the SRU PA program. If accepted, your first year in the SRU PA program meets the remaining requirements for your undergraduate degree. If not accepted, you continue to complete your undergraduate degree and can reapply to the program. The accelerated option is for incoming freshmen only.
Chemistry Pre-Physician Assistant (SRU Traditional): Complete the requirements for your chemistry major and the pre-requisites for the SRU PA program and apply to the SRU PA program in your senior year.
CAREER AS A PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
Upon completion of the Chemistry undergraduate program and the Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies program, you will be well prepared to embark on your career as a Physician Assistant, a booming profession with increasing demand.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
