When you study Economics at SRU, you're not just looking at numbers and figures. You're learning about the things that impact our economy, our world, and our lives. You'll gain valuable insight into how different events (from new policy to emerging technologies) impact different markets for good and services. You'll also learn how markets determine output, employment, and prices-gaining important knowledge you can put to work with a career in business or government.
WHY CHOOSE ECONOMICS?
Many of today's top business leaders and policy makers got their start studying economics. Understanding how economies function is important, especially if you want to operate a business or help shape public policy. Studying economics at SRU will teach you how to evaluate and develop government policies that stabilize the economy, redistribute income, regulate industries, and foster international trade.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
As a student in the Economics program, you'll learn the to do following:
- think clearly about complex economic issues
- understand how and why different economies function
- learn how to use logical thinking in decision-making and problem-solving.

CAREERS IN ECONOMICS
Studying Economics at SRU will prepare you for careers in both the public and private sector. If you chose to major or minor in Economics, you will be prepared for a variety of careers-serving in many different business roles and working in areas like law, government, nonprofits, and international relations. You'll also receive an excellent background for furthering your education at the graduate level.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
