The Concentration in Graphic Design is an attractive choice for talented and creative artists seeking a career in the field of graphic design. You will work with text and images using computer software or by hand, and create work that inspires, informs and captivates targeted audiences. Within this program you will develop a unique and diverse portfolio to enter the design industry.

Are you a talented and creative artist seeking a career that combines concept, text, and images into visual works that inspire, inform and captivate audiences? The Art BFA in Graphic Design is the program for you. In this program, you will explore your individuality through the study graphic design. This is an interdisciplinary art program as Graphic Design can be dovetailed with other studios in the SRU Art Department. The work you create in this program will be important components of your unique and distinctive portfolio. Art alumni in all media are successful due to the uniqueness of their portfolios, one-on-one professor mentoring, and expansive art experiences including affordable regional and overseas travel and trips.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
You will learn variety of professional, industry-standard computer applications, as well as traditional art media, through graphic design production and presentation. You will study design fundamentals, including layout, typography, illustration and graphic imaging, that will help you develop skills visualizing of complex ideas. You will explore the combination of concepts, information, art and technology in the hands-on production of meaningful graphic art and design. This program prepares you for the real world through internships and networking opportunities in a variety of professional venues.
CAREERS IN GRAPHIC DESIGN
The opportunity to explore new directions attracts creative and innovative artists to graphic design. The field is diverse and expansive: no two graphic design jobs are alike. Graphic designers will often produce artwork and have responsibilities that go beyond the job description. The solid graphic design skills covered within this program can lead to a variety of jobs, including, but not limited to, the following:

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
