The materials engineering graduate program at the University of Dayton has an international reputation for excellence that provides state-of-the-art facilities, classes on cutting-edge topics and real-world research opportunities in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI). The program accommodates students from a wide range of academic and technical backgrounds and attracts full- and part-time students nationally and internationally.
Plan of Study
A minimum of 30 semester hours:
Thesis option: 24 semester hours of course work (8 classes) and 6 semester hours of research credit Non-thesis option: 30 semester hours of course work (10 classes). (Suggested for International Students.)
Program Details
In the master's program, you'll learn from materials experts, including engineers and scientists from the University, UDRI, WPAFB and local industries. These professionals often serve as guest speakers and present their latest research.
Graduate students routinely receive financial support for conducting materials research alongside engineers at UDRI and the Air Force Research Laboratory's Materials Directorate at WPAFB. Many of these professionals serve as research advisers and materials engineering faculty members. Our research facilities and the on-campus Center for Materials Diagnostics are among the best in the world.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 In addition to a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, applicants should have exposure to a variety of research and analytical or critical methods during their undergraduate studies. Applicants should have earned a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based (IB) test is required for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): A minimum band score of 6.5 is required for full admission. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): A minimum score of 60 is required for full admission.
