LL.M. candidates with a U.S. law degree (i.e., J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school are required to complete 24 semester hours of course work. LL.M. candidates with a first law degree from a foreign university or from a non-ABA-approved law school (along with a U.S. bar license) must complete 30 semester hours of course work, including Introduction to the U.S. Legal System or Introduction to U.S. Law and Legal Institutions for LL.M. Students (if pursuing the LL.M. degree online). All LL.M. students must take at least four core courses, approved elective courses and one course that satisfies the LL.M. writing requirement. Some of these requirements may be fulfilled with transfer credit. Optional certificates in applied business, criminal, cyber, intellectual property law and United States Legal Practice are available to students interested in pursuing an additional specialization.
The LL.M. program may be completed on a part-time basis with the approval of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Director of Graduate Law Programs. Part-time students must complete the program within four calendar years from the date of matriculation.

Fully Online LL.M.
Starting in January 2019, the University of Dayton School of Law will be offering an entirely online option for students interested in completing their LL.M. degree in American and Transnational Law. Interested students may apply online through LSAC.org. Scholarships are available. Financial aid is also available for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens.
All courses will be offered in an asynchronous online format during three semesters per year (Fall, Spring, Summer). Foreign educated attorneys holding a first degree in law or equivalent are required to complete 30 credits to earn the LL.M. degree. Based on course availability and sequencing, students may complete the 30 credits in as little as one year. Reading materials will be available, online and for free, within each course. In order to stimulate class discussion and the exchange of ideas, each course will also include interactive components, including weekly live office hours, Discussion Boards, Announcements, and more!

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) In addition to a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, applicants should have exposure to a variety of research and analytical or critical methods during their undergraduate studies. Applicants should have earned a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based (IB) test is required for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): A minimum band score of 6.5 is required for full admission. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): A minimum score of 60 is required for full admission.
