Program Description
To provide a holistic, liberal education that integrates the study of human activity and the natural environment, the geography major at CCSU offers five specializations: Environmental, Geographic Information Science (GIS), Tourism, General/Regional, and Planning, plus subject concentration for Elementary Education certification and Secondary Education Certification in Social Studies. A secondary goal is to enable students to pursue a graduate degree in geography or seek employment in geography-related fields. Students on the Planning track will explore GIS basics, economic geography, urban geography, community and regional planning, and additional topics in planning.
