The MFA in Artisanry - Fibers is a 60 credit, 2- to 3-year program of study.
The Fibers program offers you the opportunity for concentrated studio work involving both technical and conceptual challenges. Graduate students pursue individual areas of interest, which may take the form of two- or three- dimensional structures, garments and costume, functional or non-functional work.
By merging technical processes with a conceptual basis, you will develop personal analytical and critical skills, confidence, and the self-discipline required for accomplished artistic work. Close relationships with your advisor, student peers, and committee members support research, experimentation, and ongoing inquiry, directed toward the development of a strong sense of your own artistic vision and a sensitivity to the role of art within your culture.
The Fibers studio is a vigorous and demanding environment where faculty and students critique, discuss, and debate the issues inherent in studio work; individual meetings take place on a weekly basis and critiques occur each month.
The required studio and academic course work to earn a Master's degree in Fibers includes seminars in professional and aesthetic issues, art history, philosophy of art, and support studios. Studies culminate in a visual and written thesis.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field from an accredited (if U.S.) institution of higher learning or be enrolled in such a baccalaureate degree program, with degree completion anticipated prior to graduate enrollment. Applicants who lack a bachelor’s degree may be considered for admission, in some programs, if they can demonstrate convincingly that they have the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in the discipline of their choice. We require a minimum score of 533/200/72 (PBT/CBT/IBT) on the TOEFL or BAND 6.0 on the IELTS for entrance to any program and a minimum score of 550/213/79 (PBT/CBT/IBT) on the TOEFL or BAND 6.5 on the IELTS for consideration for a teaching assistantship.
