UMass Dartmouth’s Master of Arts in Professional Writing program meets a growing demand for professional and technical communicators. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in professional and technical writing are growing faster than average.
Our students take classes that prepare them to meet that demand by learning how to communicate ideas and information across a range of media.

Our students have found full-time positions at companies and organizations such as Akamai Technologies, Brown Medical School, Goodwill Industries, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and Raytheon. They're employed in positions such as: Communications Consultant; Technical Writer; Social Media Coordinator; Grant Writer; Document and Web Designer; Content Strategist; Public Outreach Specialist; Writer/Editor/Internet Systems Developer.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field from an accredited (if U.S.) institution of higher learning or be enrolled in such a baccalaureate degree program, with degree completion anticipated prior to graduate enrollment. Applicants who lack a bachelor’s degree may be considered for admission, in some programs, if they can demonstrate convincingly that they have the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in the discipline of their choice. We require a minimum score of 533/200/72 (PBT/CBT/IBT) on the TOEFL or BAND 6.0 on the IELTS for entrance to any program and a minimum score of 550/213/79 (PBT/CBT/IBT) on the TOEFL or BAND 6.5 on the IELTS for consideration for a teaching assistantship.
