Welcome to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Our faculty provides students with the vast knowledge of expertise, research, and practice experience in the social work field; including areas of social welfare, social justice, and diversity. Students in the BSW program have an opportunity to take a variety of courses from instructors who have a strong desire and commitment to social work education and further advancement of the social work profession.
The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program at Texas A&M University-Commerce offers the BSW degree on both the main Commerce campus as well as the Mesquite (MPLX) location. Both programs are set up with students moving through as cohorts. This opportunity allows for the students to have a strong connection to their peers and has proven to be highly successful in allowing further support for students and future professional networking.
Our BSW graduates pursue careers in a variety of areas such as: child protective services, hospitals and medical settings, hospice, adoptions/foster care, substance abuse treatment facilities, school districts, long term care/rehab facilities, criminal justice, and children and family services. Many of our BSW graduates will go on to pursue advanced degrees in social work or related fields. Upon graduating with the BSW degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, students have the opportunity to make a difference in many lives and to be the change agent in the greater society.

Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Required scores: 80 (Internet-based TOEFL), 550 (paper-based TOEFL) or 6.5 IELTS.
