The foundation of business success lies in marketing. In the BS in marketing program you will learn how organizations plan, organize, administer and achieve their business objectives through effective marketing. Courses in emerging areas of marketing such as mobile design/development, digital marketing, social media, customer experience, and brand and product management ensure you have the marketable skills employers demand. Be prepared to develop and deploy strategic marketing plans based upon creativity and analytics that help drive market success.
The marketing major prepares graduates for careers in consumer or organizational sales and sales management; product management; marketing research; promotion and media planning; retail/wholesale management; buying or purchasing; and customer service management. These careers are found at all levels of distribution (manufacturing, wholesale, and retail both domestically and internationally), as well as in not-for profit organizations and government. In addition to the common body of knowledge in business competencies, majors in marketing will demonstrate competencies in marketing promotion, personal selling and sales management, channels of distribution, research, retailing, consumer behavior, marketing of services, and marketing policy and strategy.
