An increasingly connected world economy and the growing virtual existence for almost all existing organizations makes cybersecurity as relevant as local or national security for our society. A stable world and a safe virtual environment are essential elements for a peaceful world. This program leverages the powerful resources of Duquesne University in Mathematics, Computer Science and Security Studies to meet the needs of students and of society at large.
Graduates may pursue careers as chief information security officer, forensic computer analyst, security architect, penetration tester, IT security engineer, security systems administrator, IT security consultant, and policy analyst, to name just a few.
What you will learn in the cybersecurity studies major at Duquesne
- How to evaluate the cyber-security needs of an organization
- How to assess and develop risk management policies in order to protect well the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of an organization's information and assets
- How to support and secure information and assets as needed to support an organization's mission
- How to research, learn, and apply new cyber-security technology in order to keep skills current
- How to apply these skills in a professional manner, including documenting their work, communicating clearly and appropriately, and following appropriate ethical and professional standards of conduct

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) To be considered for admission you must have graduated from a secondary school recognized as an acceptable equivalent to a U.S. high school and you must demonstrate a record of acceptable academic success. In general, undergraduate applicants are expected to obtain the U.S. equivalent of a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) for most majors. TOEFL iBT of 70 or above or IELTS of 6.0.
