A bachelor of urban planning and development will provide you with a solid grounding in the broad concepts and specific skills needed to excel as an urban planner in the public or private sector. Our industry-aligned curriculum and hands-on learning will outfit you with the expertise and confidence to achieve.
Required Courses
After completing a common course of study alongside other College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) students, you’ll declare your interest in urban planning. Our 120-credit degree pairs core courses in history and theory, land use and land development, and planning law with studio courses and a required internship.
Computer Requirement
A laptop computer is recommended for all urban planning students. Review the recommended computer hardware and software specifications to help you choose the tools that will augment the Urban Planning curriculum and activities. Please use these specifications as a guide when shopping.
Field Trips and Study Abroad
As an urban planning student, you will have the opportunity to take trips to places across the country and around the world that demonstrate a rich variety of approaches to planning and land development. These experiences will introduce a multicultural and diverse understanding of planning solutions.
