Interested in a rewarding career as a high school or middle school journalism teacher or adviser? Ranked among the best programs in the country, Ball State’s bachelor’s degree in journalism education provides a strong foundation in journalism knowledge combined with practical teaching skills.
Because a huge part of learning how to teach is actually doing it, you’ll spend several weeks working alongside a secondary teacher, followed by 16 weeks of student teaching. At graduation, you’ll feel confident in yourself, both as an educator and journalism expert.
What You Will Learn
This major will teach you how to:
plan, schedule, develop, and teach a secondary journalism class advise scholastic newspapers, yearbooks, magazines, and online media perform the duties of a journalist
