When you wear your favorite outfit, sip your latte, or download a popular catchy song, you are touching the result of marketing. Behind it all are creative brand managers, savvy market researchers, and problem-solving sales reps, along with scores of other strategic marketers. They delve deep into consumer lifestyles, identify niche markets, and analyze consumer insights to understand how consumers interact with the world and use the products they encounter.
Our bachelor’s degree in marketing explores all these issues and more. As a student, you’ll engage in every aspect of the marketing world and immerse yourself in hands-on learning and internships.
Our Two Centers
Your experiential learning begins with our two outstanding centers:
The Center for Professional Selling: One of just 23 full members of the University Sales Center Alliance, this center provides hands-on learning and networking opportunities, including a national sales competition, the nation’s largest sales job fair, and access to sales professionals. The Center for Advancement of Digital Marketing and Analytics: A hub for cutting edge social media tactics and trends, this center’s focal point is the Social Media Lab—which equips students with digital marketing and analytics skills—and Social Media Center—which supports Nonmedia, our student-run marketing agency serving Ball State and its business community clients.
Major Requirements
Our curriculum explores the full spectrum of marketing, including advertising and sales, social media, product design, buyer expectations, and managing customer needs while creating and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
