Data drives the modern age, but what do you do with all that information? Businesses in every industry need smart, driven employees to make sense of the madness and find the underlying truth of the market. With a degree in business analytics from Ball State, you’ll attack data by creating new insights for companies by gathering large data sets through statistical methods.
Your program will prepare you to jump into the world of business with a solid grounding in theory and thorough experience in practical application. If the idea of applying technical analytical skills to solve real-world problems sounds appealing, a degree in business analytics is right for you.
Major Requirements
This major is organized into four groups of courses:
- Ball State University’s Core Curriculum
- 14 undergraduate business foundation courses
- specialized business analytics coursework
- nine credits of electives

What Can You Do with a Degree in Business Analytics?
You may work with research and development (R&D) teams to develop strategies and systems for customized data needs or work with IT specialists to improve the security and efficiency of data processes or work with business executives to determine the health and direction of a specific aspect of the organization. Our BA graduates find job opportunities as data analysts, business analysts, data administrators, analytics managers, or data scientists.
As a graduate of the business analytics program, you can be employed as a big data analyst in various industries such as:
