The Master Science (M.S.) in Kinesiology/Human Performance Studies offers a Thesis (30 hours) and Non-Thesis (36 hours) option. The degree is designed to prepare individuals for research, advanced graduate education and careers in academic, medical, corporate and clinical settings.
Thesis option
A major in kinesiology requires 30 semester hours in the thesis program and 36 semester hours in the non-thesis program. Graduate students who intend to continue beyond the master’s degree are encouraged to elect the thesis program. All students entering the graduate program must take a common 12-hour core in combination with various electives from the human performance studies emphasis as well as other related fields.

Twelve credit hours of graduate level (500-599) Kinesiology course work as advised.
Thesis Research/Writing
Three hours from each of the following:

Generally, all applicants must have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work. English Language Scores: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score - 79 IBT (Internet-Based) and 550 PBT (Paper-Based); International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score - Overall band 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE) score – 53.
