The music education track in the Master of Music is designed to provide teachers with advanced skills and knowledge to succeed in the public schools or college teaching. Students may select one of four concentrations: instrumental, choral, elementary/general music or conducting. Students entering this degree should have an undergraduate degree in music.
The elementary/general music concentration within the Master of Music is entirely web-based and may be completed entirely via the internet, though some courses are available in a face-to-face format for students who choose that option. This program is designed for individuals who wish to continue their study of elementary/general music methods and pedagogical theory. It is intended for practicing music specialists in the public-private schools and is offered as a 31-hour program with a thesis or a 36-hour program without a thesis.
The choral and instrumental concentrations within the Master of Music are available for either face-to-face or online students.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 To apply for a master’s degree program at SFA, you must meet one of the following requirements: Be in your final year of undergraduate work; Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Generally, all applicants must have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work. English Language Scores: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score - 79 IBT (Internet-Based) and 550 PBT (Paper-Based); International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score - Overall band 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE) score – 53.
