The following background courses are required for each of the counseling programs. Students must complete these leveling courses within the first year of enrollment.
School Counseling:
general psych SPE 329 or SPE 567
No post-baccalaureate courses will be approved unless the student has completed or is concurrently enrolled in required background courses. Students with deficiencies in background courses must be enrolled in those courses every semester until all deficiencies are completed.

Generally, all applicants must have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work. English Language Scores: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score - 79 IBT (Internet-Based) and 550 PBT (Paper-Based); International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score - Overall band 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE) score – 53.
