Urban Forestry prepares students to resolve issues in urban forest environments and equips them with techniques that enable them to establish, maintain, and manage individual trees and forests that are found within those areas.
The Bachelor of Science in Forestry degree with an emphasis in Urban Forestry is a 130 semester-hour program that prepares graduates for success in the expanding field of urban renewable natural resource management.
Urban Forestry professionals are trained to manage both individual trees and groups of trees in urban settings as well as in the rapidly growing wildland-urban interface, that area in which development is spreading into the nation's wild lands.
Graduates with the Urban Forestry emphasis are eagerly sought by employers in federal, state, and private sectors, especially private consulting firms.
