The visual arts expand our consciousness and appreciation of the world and enhance our ability to interact with it by presenting objects and images that excite the senses, stir the emotions and engage the intellect. At the SFA School of Art, we provide high quality baccalaureate, graduate and public educational opportunities suitable for scholars, producers and viewers of art.
The Art History area at SFA provides high-quality education for viewers of art through a variety of course offerings that range from ancient to Postmodern art. Art History offers a Certificate in Museum Studies (18 hours) at the graduate level. Art History sponsors a day-long bus trip to Houston, Dallas or Ft Worth every fall and spring for students and faculty to see art in person. The School of Art also offers the opportunity to study the history of Renaissance art in Florence, Italy through our partnership with the Libera delle Belle Arti (LABA) art school.

English Language Scores: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score - 79 IBT (Internet-Based) and 550 PBT (Paper-Based); International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score - Overall band 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE) score – 53.
