The department curriculum is designed to produce graduates who can reason, gather information, communicate, solve problems, and adapt easily to change. These qualities are crucial to success, not only in future academic endeavors, but also in professional careers.
This major emphasis requires ANT 231; SOC 137, SOC 310, SOC 378, SOC 379, SOC 471, SOC 495; nine additional hours of upper-level sociology courses; and three additional hours of upper- or lower-level sociology courses.
Three hours of the student’s program must be designated as field-based learning (internship, field school, or study abroad). B.A. or B.S. available.

English Language Scores: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score - 79 IBT (Internet-Based) and 550 PBT (Paper-Based); International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score - Overall band 6.5; Pearson Test of English (PTE) score – 53.
