One of the only programs of its kind in Texas, the Bachelor of Science in data analytics prepares students to meet the growing data management needs of business and industry, equipping them with the skills to extract and analyze data. This interdisciplinary program incorporates classes in computer science, economics and mathematics.

Analysts perform the vital role of analyzing data for meaningful information and determining how these insights can be used. SFA graduates are well-equipped with the necessary skills to apply computing processes and algorithms to examine business and economic data, taking complicated concepts and communicating them to clients in simple ways.

Because the program incorporates coursework in computer science, statistics and economics, SFA’s Bachelor of Science in data analytics ensures graduates have ample experience that translates to most sectors, including private, profit and non-profit. Get connected, and stay connected
The Department of Computer Science is all about forming and maintaining connections, whether to your fellow students and professors or to industry professionals. The department offers plenty of opportunities for networking, hosting an annual programming contest and facilitating student organizations’ events.
An advisory council of industry professionals (many SFA alumni) also visits every fall to advise the department on keeping our curriculum up to date. These professionals meet with students to offer career advice and discuss internship and job opportunities.
