Sometimes, you realize after college that you missed your calling. The NKU Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is built to develop bachelor’s degree holders who are already knowledgeable in their content areas into outstanding middle grades and secondary educators.
NKU’s school-embedded MAT program, launching in summer of 2018, offers you the opportunity to become a certified teacher in your content area at the middle grades or high school level. In one year of course and field work embedded in a local school, you will learn to build relationships with your students; develop high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of your learners; and develop the tools to reflect on and refine your teaching practice.
NKU's campus-based MAT program, next cohort starting in fall of 2019, combines thoughtful placements in area classrooms, excellent courses taught by knowledgeable faculty, a manageable two-year schedule that includes in-person and online courses, and the option to be employed as a teacher while still a student.
The MAT program admits one cohort of students per year. In summer of 2018, we will admit a cohort to the school-embedded program. In fall of 2019, we will admit a cohort to the campus-based program.

為來自中國的學生設(shè)計 Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited institution with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. English language requirement: TOEFL scores must meet a minimum standard score of 550 on the paper version, 213 of the computer-based version, or 79 on the internet based (iBT) version. Applicants submitting the IELTS must achieve a 6.5 on the general band portion.
