The sports and event management industries consist of multi-billion dollar businesses that continue to witness rapid growth. The need for business-minded professionals to manage and market events has spiked, creating increased demand for sport and event management professionals.
Is a degree in Sports Business & Event Management for me?
The world of sports and events is vibrant, diverse, and fast-paced. Individuals in this field must be able to juggle multiple projects at the same time and be extremely detail-oriented.
What will I learn as a Sports Business & Event Management major?
All Sports Business & Event Management students complete business core classes, which will broaden their knowledge of the business aspects of the sports and event management industries. Additionally, students will be exposed to hands-on learning through courses such as “Sports Marketing and Events Research,” “Moneyball: Economics of Sports and Events,” and “Event Planning and Management.” A field internship is included within the program, providing students with practical work experience and real-world networking exposure to the sports business environment at the local, regional, national, or international level. Internship partners include the Reds, Bengals, Western & Southern Open, Flying Pig Marathon, and many others.
