The mission of the University of Nevada, Reno counseling program is to educate competent, culturally aware, ethical counselors who will provide exceptional services in both public and private settings to meet the needs of a increasingly diverse society.
Emphasis in marital, family, and couples counseling (MFCC) is a 67 credit hour nationally accredited (CACREP) program. Graduates of the specialization in the MFCC area of emphasis are able to deal effectively with the variety of issues and family constellations. Students receive in-depth training in conceptualization skills as well as the theoretical and practical application of systems theory. Aside from formal coursework, graduate students have the opportunity to intern in the Downing Counseling Clinic, located within the College of Education. The clinic serves as a low-cost clinic for the surrounding community.
The MFCC program takes approximately three years of full-time enrollment (including summers). If you would like to go slower, you will need to determine how you will work course progression, as you cannot take courses out of order.

為來自中國的學生設計 Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution. Eligibility for admission with a 3-year bachelor's degree are determined on a case by case basis. Minimum grade point average (on a 4.0 scale): 2.75 for a master’s degree. TOEFL: 550 (paper) or 79 (internet), IELTS: 6.5 (academic version).
