在這里學(xué)什么？
Physical Education, Wellness, and Leisure is designed to prepare students to become well-rounded professionals who are ready to teach quality elementary or secondary physical education and health classes as well as coach in one secondary-related sport. The program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Education. It includes a major in K-12 physical education, wellness, and leisure and a coaching endorsement. The student has the option to choose a minor to improve marketability and/or eliminate the coaching endorsement depending on individual needs. Students planning to coach in Arkansas must have or be eligible to have a teaching license and pass the Praxis II examination for a coaching endorsement according to Arkansas guidelines.
Educational Opportunities
Included in the Physical Education, Wellness, and Leisure teaching emphasis program are opportunities to participate in collaborative educational experiences in school and community programs. The curriculum includes three K-12 school internships that range in complexity from initial observations to student teaching. Students in all HKR programs are encouraged to assist with community activities such as the Special Olympics, fishing derbies, or departmental programs. An HKR club is available for students to participate in professional development while taking courses. The co-educational environment at SAU allows students to experience a variety of activities and sports that will be helpful in identifying their career goals and philosophy. The department offers opportunities to be involved in exercise and fitness testing, wellness programs and activities, lifetime sports and an excellent intramural program of sports activities.

A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL, A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL, A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL, A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
