This four-year Engineering Physics with Welding Engineering Technology degree option is highly focused in welding technology so that the graduates will take leadership roles in welding a fabrication industries. The successful graduates will ensure the quality of welding work and supervise the welding technicians in the workplace typically in a manufacturing facility. The graduate will also ensure safety and evaluate the current method for further improvement. This degree option will be a collaborative program with SAU Tech. A significant number of lower division welding courses will be offered at SAU Tech; whereas all the upper division welding specific courses will be offered at SAU.
Learning Goals
An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability An ability to function on multidisciplinary team An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problem An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility An ability to communicate effectively The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning A knowledge of contemporary issues

A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL, A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL, A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL, A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
