School librarians create a vibrant culture of literacy by teaching critical skills young people need to evaluate and manage information while using innovative technology to share ideas. A University of Houston-Clear Lake Master of Science in School Library and Information Science with state certification will equip you with the knowledge and skills to become one of your school's most dynamic educators who will build on the traditional role of nurturing a love for reading, while developing high-quality collections to support the school curriculum and meet student-reading preferences.
Become a Leader in the Information Age
UHCL's School Library and Information Science Program focuses on school librarianship, as nationally-recognized, award-winning school library faculty teach online courses. This program is designed for passionate people who want to impact student learning by: Leading elementary, middle, or high school teachers in the integration of technology; Collaborating with teachers to develop lessons in all curricular areas; Helping students become information-literate; Teaching students about the ethical use of resources; and Implementing and promoting school-wide literacy programs, all of which impact student learning.
This degree and certification will prepare you to: Analyze and identify the needs of diverse communities of users; Assist and educate users to resources; Develop and manage collections of information resources; Deploy information technologies in effective and innovative ways; and Effectively evaluate and use research.

為來自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants will be considered for admission to University of Houston-Clear Lake, if they have earned bachelor's degrees or higher (as applicable) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and are eligible to return to the last institution attended. To satisfy by Test Results: Official Pearson Test of English (PTE) scores of 53 or higher, Official International English Language System (IELTS) scores of 6.0 or higher, Successful completion of ELS Level 112 - Intensive English Program, or iBT TOEFL Test of 79 or higher.
